The Renewal Project is a 501(c)(3) (applied for) charitable organization, founded in Birmingham, AL by those with lived experience and a heart for prioritizing mental and behavioral health in our home state. Our goal is to ease the financial burden of care for Alabama families with mental health and substance use disorders, to create a brighter, healthier future together.
In Alabama, the number one barrier to mental and behavioral health treatment is cost. The Renewal Project assists those who want help and better health, with financial assistance so they can receive the treatment and care.
The Renewal Project is funded by private and corporate donors who believe that mental healthcare access is a right for all Alabamians, not a privilege.

The Renewal Project was inspired by Alabama families who received exceptional mental and behavioral healthcare and wanted others to experience the same positive impact as their families and loved ones.
With a commitment to transparency and accountability, we work diligently to create a lasting difference in Alabama families through access to quality healthcare with treatment providers who believe in quality treatment and outcomes. This includes: Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, Trauma, Psychiatric Disorders, Mood Disorders, Eating Disorders, and Substance Use Disorders and reaches across the continuum of care: Residential/Inpatient Treatment, Partial Hospitalization or Outpatient Treatment, Recovery Residences, and various therapies.
